Summit Farms

Our vision and strategy is to be environmental stewards of the land, to build a multi-generational, self-sustaining, commercially-profitable, family-farm first and an agritourism destination with an emphasis on supporting the local community’s food needs through public/private partnerships. Summit Farms is a small family-owned sustainable farm, environmentally managed, growing to natural practices, utilizing the best growing methods of our Pioneers and Native Americans combined with modern, regenerative ways. We are first-generation, late-in-life farmers who have benefited greatly from the wisdom and advice of so many vendors and producers in the Olympia Farmers Market community. On our 27 acres, we have two greenhouses that are joined by a 96' NRCS high-tunnel plus a Tilth Alliance funded field with deer-resistant fencing, and organic soil improvements and nutrients. Summit Farms is focused on growing from seed to start to produce and selling seasonal vegetables, herbs, and succulents at the Olympia (and Tumwater Farmer’s Markets and South Sound Fresh). Our grow plans for 2025 include: Seasonal Starts (April – June): Peppers, Tomatoes/Tomatillos, Cucumbers, Zucchini/Squash, Sunflowers. Seasonal Herbs – Starts and Produce (April – October): Cilantro, Basil, Dill, Rosemary, Lemon Herb, and others. Early – Late Season Produce (succession plantings; May – October): Lettuce (Romaine and Mixed, Carrots. Seasonal Onions, Scallions and Garlic (April – October): Red Wethersfield, Yellow Rock and White Ebenezer Onions/scallions, Red Shallots; Elephant, Music, Northern White and German Hardneck Garlic varieties (and garlic scapes June).
