We are a mother and daughter who appreciate a good candle. That said, we used to spend a ridiculous amount of money every month on this indulgence. We found scents we liked, but we found that candles were either incredibly expensive or not at all forthcoming about things that are important to us, like being cruelty free. It wasn’t until the daughter half of our partnership said, “Why don’t we just make them ourselves, so then we get exactly what we want, how we want,” that we did exactly that. We started sharing our work with friends and family. We were often asked if we ever intended to sell our candles, because our loved ones wanted to share them with their loved ones too. Truth be told, we enjoyed the whole candle making process and were turning out more product than we could reasonably use, so we gave this some thought. With a corner of our kitchen already dedicated to chandlery (and with college tuition looming on the not so distant horizon), we decided that maybe starting a cottage industry business would be a good idea. We believe in creating a cruelty free, sustainable, and organically sourced product. We also believe that luxury items should be within everyone's reach. We create our candles and melts in small batches here in our home in Grapeview, Washington.
