Roots and Fruits Farm Bio Nestled in the scenic outskirts of Winlock, Washington, Roots and Fruits Farm is a first- generation, family-owned produce and pastured laying hen farm. With a steadfast commitment to regenerative farming, we work tirelessly to leave our land healthier and more vibrant than we found it. Through sheer determination, countless hours, and the application of organic compost, natural forest products, and organic nutrients, we always give back to the soil more than we take. Our pride and joy is our delicious triple-washed, ready-to-eat salad mixes, available most of the year. Depending on the season, these greens are cultivated either in unheated high tunnels or directly in the fields. While Mother Nature sometimes challenges our plans, we've learned to adapt, using every hurdle as a stepping stone to improve ourselves and the farm. In addition to salad greens, our farm grows a diverse array of fruits and vegetables, including microgreens, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onions, corn, radishes, squash, asparagus, apples, and pears to name a few. This variety keeps life on the farm exciting and ensures our tables and hearts are always full. Everything we grow is organic, cultivated without sprays or harmful chemicals, reflecting our deep respect for the environment. Our pasture-raised laying hens are another cornerstone of the farm. Rain or shine, snow or heat, we keep our hens healthy and happy with high-quality feed, fresh water, and year-round access to lush pastures. This labor-intensive approach rewards us with nutrient-dense eggs and thriving, green pastures. Rotating our flock through the farm enriches the soil with nitrogen and trace nutrients while also controlling pests. We’re also exploring the fascinating world of mushrooms, integrating mycelium to enhance soil health and experimenting with specialty varieties. We look forward to offering mushrooms as a future addition to our market table. At Roots and Fruits Farm, our mission is clear: to work in harmony with Mother Nature, creating healthy soil, nutritious crops, and a sustainable, thriving ecosystem. We deeply appreciate every individual who supports our vision of a healthier planet. Together, we can make a difference—one harvest at a time.
