In late 2020, the City of Olympia, WA, contracted Earth Homes LLC to oversee the production of (60) 8'x8' insulated, locking, level micro-houses to replace tents people were living in at the "Mitigation Site" placed downtown in 2018 after a public health emergency was declared. Over 150 volunteers came through the door over the six months in production, over 15 manufacturers contributed materials at or below cost, and so far, everyone's life has changed in some way, small or dramatically.

Join Art is Solidarity, a non-profit physical and digital arts cooperative, at the Market on Market Days throughout August. The micro-homes feature artwork from local artists. This micro house will be on-site for one more week and then be replaced by a different house with new artwork later this month.
