Newaukum Valley Farm
Newaukum Valley Farm has been in operation since 2003. Originating on the banks of the Newaukum River, the farm moved a few miles west in 2007 and now resides on the banks of the Chehalis River in Adna, WA. Joshua Newaukum Hyatt, the farmer, decided to keep his name in the farm, so he left it the same after the move. With the help of his wife Melissa, the two are now entering their tenth year of farming and have about 15 acres of vegetables in production. There are no chemicals, herbicides, or pesticides used in the operation. Hand and mechanical cultivation take care of the weeds. Floating row covers are used to keep insects off of the delicious produce. Organic fertilizers are incorporated into the soils as well as manure from the local dairies.
